ROXANNE FABER SAVAGE
"Paper Plates"
A New Show of Paper Lithography
October 24 - December 8, 2008
"Paper Plates" highlights one of Roxanne's favorite printmaking techniques - paper lithography. In this process, the matrix is an inked photocopy and the imagery is transferred to the paper surface by hand printing or with an etching press. For Savage, the rhythmic nature of this technique is well-suited to her artistic explorations of the big themes in life: freedom, confinement, love, sex, and death.
